"Protection Status S"
On March 12, the Federal Council put the “S” protection status into force. This gives Ukrainian refugees a temporary right to stay for one year and the federal government takes over the refinancing via the global lump sum. The question of health insurance is also clarified with the protection status. Ukrainian nationals who wish to apply for this protection status in Switzerland, including persons who have entered the country on private initiative in recent days, should contact the State Secretariat for Migration SEM or the SEM in Altstätten, Schöntalstrasse 2, for registration.
